Google Nexus 4 facing ‘no problem’ as stock shortages continue

Despite Google Nexus 4 stock shortages continuing, the handset?s manufacturer LG has suggested there is ?no problem? with the device?s supply chain.

Having recently been blamed by Google for the reduced and stilted availability of the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean handset, manufacturer LG has suggested that it is not responsible for continuing Google Nexus 4 stock issues, telling Korean sources that ?there is no problem in supply.?

Further shirking responsibility for a lack of Google Nexus 4 stock that left many consumers disappointed in the run up to Christmas and well into the New Year, an unnamed LG executive has been quoted by Korean news outlet Chosun Ilbo as suggesting the company?s Pyeongtaek factory ?produced without a hitch.?

With Google Nexus 4 handsets still proving hard to come by, and the Google Play Store remaining out of stock of both the 8GB and 16GB models, LG?s latest claims come just weeks after the manufacturer suggested that reduced stock levels had been caused by ?huge demand.?

Speaking after initial Google Nexus 4 stock levels sold out within 30 minutes in the UK, Andy Coughlin, head of mobile at the UK arm of LG said that the Samsung Galaxy S3 and iPhone 5 rival ?had proven extremely popular, and as such retailers have been met with huge demand.?

He added: ?As with any sales process, LG supplies product quantities against partners?/customers? forecasts. Demand via the Play Store has been very high in this instance.?

Offering a different side to the story, Google, in the days leading up to the festive period, heaped blame on its manufacturing partner, stating LG had been ?erratic? in its production and communication.

Issuing an apology to those unable to get their mitts on the quad-core Google Nexus 4 powerhouse, Google UK and Ireland MD, Dan Cobley took to Google Plus to vent his frustrations at the limited stock levels.

?I know that what you are going through is unacceptable and we are all working through the nights and weekends to resolve this issue,? Cobley said. ?Supplies from the manufacturer are scarce and erratic, and our communication has been flawed. I can offer an unreserved apology for our service and communication failures in this process.?

Google Nexus 4 Specs
One of the most in-demand handsets on the market, interest in the Google Nexus 4 was sparked thanks to the handset?s high-end specs and minimalist Google Nexus 4 price tag when purchased SIM-free through the Google Play Store.

With the 8GB and 16GB Google Nexus 4 handsets setting wannabe owners back ?239 and ?279 respectively on a SIM-free basis, the Android 4.2 packing handset plays host to an expansive 4.7-inch WXGA IPS display with a 1280 x 768p resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protective coating and an impressive 320 pixels-per-inch image density.

Elsewhere, the Google Nexus 4 features list is further bolstered by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and a hefty 2,100mAh Lithium Polymer battery. Providing impressive camera options within the glass-backed 9.1mm thick, 139g shell, an 8-megapixel rear-mounted camera with 1080p Full HD video recording capabilities lines up alongside a second, 2-megapixel, forward-facing snapper.

Although still currently unavailable SIM-free through the Google Play Store, Google Nexus 4 UK availability was increased earlier this week with network provider Virgin Media confirming it would be the latest to offer the device.
